Our Guesthouse

A house with a history

Our gastropub is in between Grossreifling and St. Gallen.

The history of our house dates back to the year 1561. Most probably it was already at that time an inn and location where horses got changed along the Eisenstrasse (iron route and particular part of Styria). In 1939 our Grand-Grand parents, Eberhard and Maria Schnalb bought and took over the property and since then it is owned by the Schnabl family.

In 1989 the former mill (annex building) was completely renovated and 11 guest rooms furnished and integrated into the existing building. Since then we have 18 guest rooms, from single to large family rooms with more than 1 sleeping room.

Since 2005, myself Simone Graf, supported by my family, the business.

In 2006 we became a partner of the nature park Natur- und Geopark Steirische Eisenwurzen and through compliance with quality criteria we have been awarded the partnership of Steiermark Tourim in the category of nature tourism.

Loving the old substance of the house we have modernised it over the years and have integrated all modern amenities. Thick walls are the heritage of lost times and give a special charm to the building. We are especially proud of our rustic dining room which is centuries old and has always been a meeting point and will hopefully be for many more years and generations to come.

Our guest rooms are all equipped with shower/bath, toilet and TV. All rooms are individually designed and therefore the pictures have solely the purpose to give you an idea of how some of them look like.
